We were impressed with the fitout inside

Pros: the room was excellent, beautifully decorated. the dinner was very good and the breakfast was a genuine English breakfast.

Cons: communication that the inn didn't actually open until 4pm

Surpurb stopover close to lake Ulswater

Home from home.

Pros: The Inn is very welcoming and homely with wonderful staff that make for a fabulous stay. The food was superb (dinner and breakfast), and our dog Peggy loved the log fires

Pros: Easy to find just off the main road, lovely warm and cosy rooms, and met by the lovely staff, food on the evening was really nice, the breakfast was really good too

Pros: Lovely cheery welcome. Pleasant room and comfortable bed. Nice food in the restaurant and cosy in front of a real fire/stove.

Cons: The property was very nice. No complaints. The toilet cistern in room 1 needs a little attention, but that’s all.

Nice weekend stay

Pros: The warm welcome. Everyone was pleasant and cheerful. The food was great, especially the steak pie we had in the evening. Breakfast was table service and cooked to order. You had to fill out your order the night before.
