First stay in 2024 made me come back in 2025!

Pros: I stayed here in 2024 whilst walking The Cleveland Way. Having booked a twin, we were delighted to find 2 double beds in our beautiful spacy room. A whole year later (September 2025), my husband and decided to stay there once again, after completing the Coast to Coast walk. As we had booked a double, our room this time only had one double bed, so wasn't as big as the room I'd had before. However, it was still lovely. The hotel's facilities are modern, comfortable, funky - complimentary cake in the afternoons, very spacious relaxing areas, a great restaurant/bar with amazing views. Highly recommend.

Loved staying there, can not wait to go back. lots of love Russ and Lisa x

Pros: Ben and his team were exceptional, made us feel like we had been going in there all our lives. The food was superb, the beer was excellent, and the band they had on, on the sunday night were fantastic. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the walk in shower was fabulous.

Cons: Perhaps a little longer window for breakfast, but the breakfasts were superb and maybe a couple of extra towels.

Pros: Booked as part of a Coast2Coast ride and staying in Boot&Shoe added to the fun. A bike-friendly local on the route. The restaurant was closed but they sorted out an alternative and arranged lifts.

Gorgeous and characteristic Inn.

Pros: What a lovely place to stay. Gorgeous evening meal and so friendly staff. good breakfast in the morning to get you going. Old public house so be prepared to duck from the low ceiling if youre tall like me, just adds to the charm of the place, Massive rear garden to.

Cons: Nothing, enjoyed the stay.

Welcoming and friendly hostelry

Pros: The breakfast was good, the staff were helpful, despite having a big reception the night before, which made our evening meal rather chaotic, and not as good as it could be. The landlord was helpful in guidance for dog walking

Pros: Nice little pub in a village with a castle which is well worth a visit to. On arrival the staff made us feel very welcome indeed and were lovely. Bedrooms are a little tired and dated, and we had a toilet seat that didn't fit the actual toilet which was very bizarre. Towels were big and lovely and the shower was perfect. Only one bedside table which was a bit annoying. Food served in the eve was fab and really big portions! Breakfast was fine but mine and my partner's eggs were burnt to crisp so that was disappointing. Car park very small. Overall a nice overnight stay

Pros: As a single female traveller I felt comfortable there. The staff were brilliant and friendly, the guy serving breakfast was great, very attentive and the full English was fantastic. Room was clean and the bed huge, had a great stay. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and I'd definitely stay again.

Cons: The room had a sloping ceiling above the bath/shower so had to kneel in thr bath to hose down. I tried to run bath instead but couldn't change the setting from shower to bath but maybe that was just me not doing it right. It wasn't a huge problem. Breakfast room being swarmed by flies.
