Good traditional oub stopover on C2C

Pros: Good stopover on coast to coast walk. Staff very friendly and helped with guiding on how shower operated. Nice refresh in accommodation but tight for space which is what charming old pubs can be. Great atmosphere in bar downstairs.

Cons: Breakfast was a bit limited. But tasty.

Friendly staff, nice food

Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Good service and nice food

Cons: Electric showers kept going hot and cold during use. Whilst the pub was a nice place to stay, the price was rather high compared with other accommodation in the Lake District

Very friendly and welcoming, clean and comfortable

Pros: Very friendly and attentive staff. We were made to feel very welcome, shown to our room and helped with instructions for getting our dogs out when the pub was closed. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was good but shower cubical was a little on the small side. Food was all lovely, met our friends for dinner - 8 of us ate together and all meals were good. The breakfast service was very good. Overall the place is very comfortable and clean with lovely decor.

Cons: The car park is a little further down and across the road, which in bad weather makes getting your stuff in a bit of a mission. We missed having an on site garden for the dogs. It was a little expensive compared to other accommodation we booked for the same trip.

Excellent location and super friendly staff

Pros: We arrived off the coast to coast and were instantly looked after, shown to a table, poured a drink, food order taken. Told us whenever we liked they would show us to our room. In the morning the same care and personal attention when it came to breakfast and checking out.

Cons: It’s an old coaching inn. It was exactly what we expected for a building of its history and vintage. Everything was clean and comfortable.
