Quiet midweek getaway

Pros: The breakfast was excellent with variety of choice, and served at decent times. Hotel is comfortable, rooms spaceous, with everything you might need on hand. Staff were very friendly!

Cons: Parking was a little tricky at times.

Brilliant stay

Pros: We had a beautiful room with a sofa and little table. Very spacious. We had our evening meal there and I had the trout with the mussel sauce. 10/10 to the chef and kitchen team it was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast had a lot of choice so I had yoghurt and fruit to start then a full english.

Great value, dog- friendly fun with gorgeous views - right on the lake.

Pros: The location is gorgeous. The staff were lovely - there and helpful but not intrusive. We were there with friends who we wanted to catch-up with and the atmosphere was just right for that. Being able to have our dog with us was amazing. The beds are very comfortable and we had a nice view from our first floor room.

Cons: The food is not very good. I get the sense that they're just not spending enough on the base ingredients. Even the most basic orders (grilled cheese, for example) seemed to be grilled in some sort of cheap oil, rather than butter, so it threw the whole taste off. One evening we just had a baked camembert sharing platter, as that seemed safest (just warming up cheese with some bread on the side) and yet, when it arrived, it wasn't warm enough to have melted. They were very good about it when I sent it back for more baking time, but yeah, the food doesn't really work that well - a particular shame because everything else was so great.

Fab hotel in a great location - lovely break.

Pros: Fantastic location, comfortable hotel, very good food and overall great value for money. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly.

Cons: Check in was late, we were told room ready in 5 min at check in time had to wait over 45 min and chase to get an update.

Such a lovely break and we will definitley be back again.
