Pros: Dane and Fay were fantastic hosts, they always had time for a chat giving us information about the area. The bedrooms were comfortable, warm, and welcoming. We would recommend staying at The Stables Guest House. We give it 5 Stars.

Pros: Dane and Fay are amazing hosts! They are so kind and friendly and are ready to help you and give you good advice about the area. The room is great with a good bed. Their home is so beatiful.The breakfast is very good too. It's in a great location to explore the galloway forest. I had a lovely stay.

Cons: I wish I had stayed longer. There is just so much to explore in the area.

A Gem of a Guest House!

Pros: Fay and Dane are a lovely couple who run this fantastic gem of a guest house here in Newton Stewart. We love how they use a lot of local produce for breakfasts. I can recommend the fabulous homemade bread, marmalade and yogurts. A wonderful location for exploring his part of Scotland with ease and to view the spectacularly beautiful scenery.

Enjoyed my visit, would return any time and happily recommend.

Pros: Warm welcome from attentive hosts who have extensive knowledge of area and offer useful advice. Clean comfortable, attractive decor throughout, nice added little touches to enhance the stay. Delicious breakfasts plenty of choice with added bonus of home made bread !!

Fully met expectations and would recommend to friends/family considering staying in this area.

Pros: Breakfast was 100% amazing. Dane and Fay were helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable (e.g. about places to visit, local restaurants/hotels), but not intrusive in any way. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

Cons: Location not brilliant, but not really an issue, as this was simply a base. Parking fairly tight but OK. These are very minor negatives compared with the positives above.

Excellent in every way

Pros: A warm reception was the introduction to a super stay. The room was clean and ideally furnished with a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts offered an excellent choice and the quality was superb.

Cons: Nothing!
