An incredible short stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Pros: Warm, friendly atmosphere. Exceptional staff service, we were made to feel at home upon arrival. Good accommodation in a great location for accessing The Lakes. The food was incredible and the staff catered for our Vegan traveller superbly. Extensive range of drinks at the bar.

Cons: Nothing.

Old school charm in Eskdale

Pros: Lovely location with great views from our room. The staff were lovely. The inn offers decent food and good beer. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of walks and cycling from the door and, of course, La'al Ratty is just a stroll down the road. Plenty to recommend the Brook House Inn.

Cons: The breakfast was a little uninspired. It took well over five minutes for hot water to come out of the shower. It would have been nice to have real milk in the room rather than plastic sachets of UHT.
