Pros: The area. Easy parking - maybe not in summer though! Relaxed atmosphere. Staff contact before and during our stay. Good food at pub meal prices. Full breakfast! Bedroom facilities. Didn't miss not having tv. Internet was good. Flask of coffee for our day out. Open log fire in the bar. Some books to browse through. Shower and bathroom facilities. Very hot water!

Cons: Some sound carried through to the bedroom from the bar. Not a problem on this occasion but when it's busy it could be. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up without fiddling. Very hot water.

Welcoming stunning escape from the crowds

Pros: Welcoming team of very professional staff, we felt treated as a ‘regular’ with excellent food & drinks both for breakfast and dinner. They offered a packed lunch for us walkers. Stunningly beautiful surroundings, tucked away.

Pros: We got a lovely welcome from the landlord and lady when we got there and our dog was welcome too. The place is a propper pub with a cosy logfire. The room was gorgeous and a nice size, it was clean and warm. The bed was lovely to sleep in. What can i say about the food, well it was AMAZING. I had the cheese pie after hearing a local gent talking about how nice it was and he wasn't wrong, well worth a try. We didn't go walking but talking to a regular holiday maker, they said there are some nice walks around Thank you to the hosts for a lovely stay

Pros: Located in a peaceful little village surrounded by countryside. Lots of historical things to see locally and scenic walks. We stayed in a lovely room with views of the fields and hills. Staff were really friendly and food was great. Wish we'd stayed longer.

Pros: The staff were brilliant, nothing was too .imuch for them The food was excellent. Stewart, the manager, was lovely and tentive. Will certainly be going back. Beautiful location
