A wonderful stay with wonderful hosts

Pros: Esther is a lovely host. Warm, welcoming, and makes a lovely breakfast. Location is perfect, and having the river running next to you while you eat breakfast made it even better for us. Very short drive into castle douglas as well if you need supplies or want to go out for some food. Thanks so much Esther and family. Our dogs had a great time as well and got plenty of attention!

A memorable stay in a lovely home with an amazing location

Pros: Our room was small, but this slight drawback was more than made up for by the warm welcome of the hosts and the absolutely beauftiful location next to the River Dee. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was extraordinary and we looked forward to it each day. The hosts were extremely helpful and gave us invaluble local information to help us plan our days and sightseeing. We thank them for the many ways they helped us.

Pros: Excellent host, very welcoming. Lovely breakfast, fruit & yoghurt then a choice of cooked options. Comfortable room & well presented

Pros: Large comfy bed, powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Friendly hosts. Pretty garden by side of the river. On street parking directly outside property.

Cons: No amenities within walking distance. Had to drive onto Castle Douglas for food each evening Cups and cutlery in room were dirty, carpet needed a clean.

Pros: Really enjoyed my two night stay at the Haven B&B. Esther and Ian are lovely hosts. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. As a wildlife photographer the location was ideal, with river and woodland walks nearby. Its a perfect place for those who love the outdoors. Would certainly consider staying there again.

This top B&B goes on top of the list for when we return to the area a next time.

Pros: Breakfast was absolute fantastic! A plate with fruits and yoghurt to start with each. Then cooked breakfast to your wishes. And on top of that delicious homemade cupcakes! The bed was big, clean and super comfy. The shower hot and good. The use of the sunroom as extra space is just a super bonus.

Cons: Absolutly nothing!

Excellent value for the money

Pros: The location was so tranquil and ideal for what we were looking for , Esther and Iain were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you , the room was spacious and clean & en-suite with power shower was great , the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast in the conservatory over looking the beautiful garden was excellent the choice of food was great, you wouldn’t go hungry, would highly recommend The Haven if your looking for something special and peaceful.
