Inn on the Square

Pros: Nicely appointed rooms, as was the hotel in general. All the staff were extremely polite, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable in their respective areas. Breakfast was excellent and dinner in the restaurant was even better.

Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Storage space a bit of an issue. Plenty of drawers but no ‘long hanging’ in the wardrobe. I had a dress I wanted to wear for our meal out on Valentines night, and my partner had a smart jacket. The hanging face was far too short for either of these and there were no additional hooks anywhere for these or for any coats. This is an area where lots of people will be coming for the walking/hiking. I’m not sure what we would have done if our coats have been soaking wet. As it happens, we were lucky with the weather on Saturday.

Good location and right on the edge of countryside. Staff and Hotel were great and not too expensive

Pros: Staff where very friendly and helpful location could not be any better.

Cons: The bed was very hard for us. There could be more lighting especially around the mirror for ladies putting on makeup

Pros: It’s clean, friendly, very comfortable, the food is delicious and the location excellent. The decor is well kept and no signs of wear and tear.

A comfortable and welcoming stay

Pros: I loved the accessibility and the location, the secure parking and ability to be with my dog almost everywhere was a major bonus. The staff couldn’t have done more if they’d tried. Nothing was too much trouble.

Cons: Rowdy customers from the bar coming up to bed at all hours of the night and no noise limitation/ quiet hours or a quiet floor. I understand everyone is more welcome to do whatever they’ve come on holiday for but if it were an option I would choose to stay away from this. Especially with a dog who got quite distressed and barked at very loud people in the corridors and banging even while we were within our room.
