Great stay

Pros: Fantastic property to stay in. Fantastic location and staff were incredibly welcoming when we arrived. Great hikes nearby. The food is great and we had absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend.

Great Tavern

Pros: Comfortable room, food was great, staff very friendly

Very lovely homely stay in the lakes. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Bedroom very cosy

Pros: Loved how it was dog friendly. The food was very lovely and all home cooked. Staff were very friendly.

Cons: The communal toilets were blocked and it seems to be a common problem.

A cosy Saturday night stay

Pros: Loved the atmosphere of the place, staff ever so friendly, The food was delicious, certainly enjoyed the fish I had, views from the room was a delight to look out from. Room very clean and bed was comfortable, loved the en- suite (Room 5)

Pros: Great location. Excellent bar and restaurant. Rooms very well presented in keeping with what you would expect in the area. All individually well decorated

Brilliant would definitely return!

Pros: We often don’t sleep well in hotels because our fussy aging bodies find the bed uncomfortable, the pillows too hard/too soft, sheets too sweaty etc… we both agreed that the beds at the Royal Oak were sooo comfy! Just perfect. Lovely and clean room with all the amenities you’d need, very welcoming pub. Also a great location for getting out to walks and we rated the coffee from down the street!

Cons: Nothing really. A bit noisy from the pub but really very minimal for what you’d expect for choosing to stay in a pub!

A beautiful location and pub.

Pros: The room was immaculate, pub was very cosy. Loved the Xmas decor. Beautiful setting on Braithwaite. The food was fantastic.

Pros: The staff in the pub were really friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for us. Warm and spacious.

Cons: I really didn't like the fact that when i pulled back the sheets in the morning some dirty socks fell out. That made me think the sheets hadnt been changed. That was our only negative .
