Very impressed, will return.

Pros: Great location with brilliant views. Old world charm with a modern approach to service. Food was particularly good, staff very friendly and efficient.

Cons: Recent change of ownership. New management has a number of minor issues in hand. Nothing to report really.

It's fantastic--just book it.

Pros: I have stayed in many hotels in many countries over a long career travelling. I have used expensive hotels and cheap. But this is the first hotel that I have stayed in that has such a well motivated, happy team. Every team member from the cleaning staff to the reception and waiting staff are fully invested in their tasks, understand the need to give excellent service and seem to really enjoy their work. Whoever runs this hotel is doing a really good job of fostering the spirit that runs through the staff. Add to this the wonderful location, fantastic restaurant and scenic views and it's a real winner. I have paid a lot more for a lot less. A hotel as hotels should be--book with absolute confidence.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike at all. But I do have a suggestion--the bar staff do a good and thorough job of cleaning tables after use. The tables have mirror tops. Two cloths, one to clean and the other to dry would eliminate smears. That's it. That's all I can find to comment on in this bit. Brilliant.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent as were the staff, very friendly and accommodating. Location was brilliant with amazing views to the front of the property.

Pros: Nice friendly staff. Smart, attentive and friendly but not overbearing. Room was excellent. We chose a superior room with a view of the valley. Good choices at breakfast. Both the veggie option and the eggs florentine were just the best. All in a superb setting in a clean, bright dining room.

Cons: Not much really. I like a buffet breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, but I understand the cost involved, however the quality of the to order breakfast was very high.

Pros: The views are lovely, staff are really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and restaurant food was delicious.

Cons: For what you pay, the rooms are very very basic. Very small, old TV.

Cons: Room 7 - lovely but v hot and couldn't turn radiators down. It's very noisy, too .

Pros: We've stayed at the Lyzzick on a good number of occasions and it's never disappointed. There are new owners of the property and the place has had a facelift which has brought it into the modern era. There's a beautiful new bar and seating area and if we were locals, the Lyzzick would definitely be our go to place on a regular basis. The hotel is as usual spotless and warm and the restaurant has views to remember to last a lifetime. Food is amazing and the new decor, down to cups and glasses have really impressed. The one thing that never fails here, is the staff themselves. Everyone is so welcoming, happy and good for a chat. We really would of extended our stay here if it wasn't for already booking another night elsewhere in the Lake District but we'll be back in the summer and look forward to seeing what the owners do next.
