A lovely relaxing property close to Keswick

Pros: The property had everything we could possibly need and it felt like a home away from home. Some lovely welcome biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk in the fridge. A nice touch. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Village shop just over the road. Bus stops to Keswick within 1-2 minutes walk and the local pub, within 3 minutes walk (we are there 3 times and it was always busy with a nice atmosphere).

Cons: Nothing.

A perfect home from home for our annual Christmas family Lake District pilgrimage

Pros: Lots of space for an adult family. Great facilities. Awsome location (2 minute walk to pub, village shop and 7 minute drive to Keswick). Wouldn’t mind moving in permanently. Oh and beautiful Christmas tree.

Cons: Slightly on the pricey side

Duck House

Pros: Lovely, spacious house. Quiet location with easy access to Keswick and the rest of the Lake District.

Cons: The access to the driveway is challenging, particularly with a larger vehicle. You certainly need your wits about you! The location pin provided by the host was not accurate but the written directions were. You are asked to strip the beds and do some other things before you leave (more than I've come across in other stays). Check out time is 9.30am so this was difficult with a small toddler. Overall we enjoyed the stay and these are just very minor gripes.

Great house in a beautiful setting

Pros: Lovely bungalow - nicely furnished and decorated, very well equipped. Comfortable beds, great shower. Wi-Fi worked well. We enjoyed sitting in the sun room looking at the lovely view. There is a nice back patio with a table and chairs which would be lovely on sunny days. Off-road parking. Great location for access to village shop and pubs plus beautiful walks from the door. Buses run through the village into Keswick or it’s a nice walk. Hosts were helpful and friendly. We appreciated their efforts to recycle, reduce single use plastic and to use non-polluting cleaning products. We would definitely consider staying again.

Cons: Phone signal wasn’t great but that’s due to the village location - not the property.

Fantastic holiday home!

Pros: The Duck house is a gem! In a fantastic location for walking, with easy access to Keswick. It is clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Lovely comfortable bed, smart kitchen and very modern bathrooms powerful showers and a huge deep bath! A lovely conservatory with a huge picture window looking over beautiful countryside. The Duck House is surrounded by mountains... with great walks from the door. Private parking, and a short walk to the village store, The Royal Oak and Jasper's coffee shop. We loved our stay and recommend it highly.
