Would definitely stay again

Pros: Very nice venue, beds really comfy. Rooms clean. Linens and towels clean

Cons: WiFi was poor (may not be a bad thing if you want to escape)

Pros: Very clean, quiet place ,amazing view! It was a pleasure to walk on the paths around the lake.

Cons: The reception room would be more welcoming if it were brighter and classical or ambient music could be heard in the background! The viewing is amazing!

Lovely break in a lovely location and looked after by a lovely team.

Pros: Location is lovely. Hotel is quaint being an old country house. The two gentlemen running the place go out of their way to make you welcome. Food including the breakfast was lovely, cooked fresh to order and served with a smile and a friendly chat. With gorgeous walks from the doorstep and views over Thirlmere from the room, what more could you want?

Cons: The evening dining room could be warmer but this is February.

Pros: Lovely historic building , location excellent, room comfortable. Good breakfast. Lovely hosts. Note to Dale suggest burning out that stump or just burying it and turn it into a rock garden.

Cons: Could have done with a fan heater in the bar when we had our meal

Pros: Very isolated property on Thirlmere. Very comfortable mattress. Clean bedroom and bathroom.

Cons: Downstairs is very outdated and could do with a spruce up. Same with outside.

Excellent. Would certainly come again.

Pros: The breakfast was superb! Superior to most breakfasts offered. We had burgers after a long walk one day, and these were excellent.

Cons: It was a little cold in the corridors of the property but warm in the bedroom.

What a gem

Pros: Lovely hotel, exceeded my expectations was lovely and cosy with good quality furnishings and clean crisp bedding. Had the best breakfast in ages, piping hot and fresh with a view of the lake to top it off. Fab stay.

Fantastic stay

Pros: Perfect stay in fantastic location. Room with plenty of space, clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, TV, kettle with teas and coffee. Thanks to the quiet location and lack of light outside, I've probably had the best sleep in years. Breakfast was nice in a pretty dining area. The staff was very friendly and polite. Just a short walk to Thirlmere Lake. Would definitely book for longer stay in the future.

Cons: I've had no 5G reception in the area, and the free wifi signal didn't reach the room we stayed in. I thought there's a pub close by, but it was closed by the look of it, but I'm not sure.
