Conveniently located terraced house near the village centre
Pros: Perfectly sized accommodation for two, with everything we needed. We had no problems parking on the main street within a few doors of the property. St Bees is within easy reach of both the coast and the westernmost fells. For groceries, there is a convenience store across the road and several supermarkets in Whitehaven (10 minutes drive away). It was easy to collect the keys from a lockbox.
Cons: The lighting in the kitchen is terrible (very little light over the sink/left hand side of cooker), which made cooking dinner a bit of an effort! This wouldn't be an issue in summer. Also, the living room is quite cold even with the heating on, due to the age and layout of the property.

Pros: good price. opposite there is a shop with basic necessities. if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday, this is what you need, relatively close there are very beautiful picturesque places, as well as larger cities where you can buy groceries.

Perfect stay
Pros: This is our 2nd stay here, its just perfect. Everything is comfy and spotless, lots of extra little touches you wouldn't expect from self catering. Nice quiet area, a shop facing and 2 pubs a stones throw away. Lovely beach and coastal walks within a 10 minute walk away. Free street parking or at the train station. Perfect base for exploring the lake district.

Pros: Lovely cosy little property , very clean and welcoming , well equipped with everything we could need for a quiet weekend away . Clear precise instructions given on booking, making for a very easy arrival and departure , great location to explore the lovely local surroundings. I really liked that all the properties maintenance documents ( boiler checks , fire extinguisher certificates etc etc ) were on display to see , this made me feel like I was staying in a very well run/maintened property , something Ive not seen in similar bookings in the past . To sum up its a very well equipped , clean and comfortable cottage in a very freindly village , ideal if you just want to relax for a while , or to use as a base to explore the local beauty spots / western lake district .
Cons: Nothing at all really , parking is a little awkward on arrival , but we just parked on the local free railway car park , and a 2 min walk later we were in the cottage , then brought the car up ,unloaded our luggage and returned the car to the car park so wasnt a problem for us but could be for older or less mobile people .
