Cosy autumn break with great local walks

Pros: Very comfortable cottage. Well maintained & equipped. Great view of Criffel. Log fire was a bonus.

Would definitely stay again, if visiting the area.

Pros: Cottage looked small, from the outside, spacious inside. Beds very comfortable, cottage immaculate, everything you could ask for in a well equipped kitchen.

Cons: Bed linen was listed, as supplied, in the descriptions but not towels. There were more than enough supplied, although we packed our own, would have saved us some packing space if listed.

Really nice accommodation and the weather was generally very good. Great walking nearby.

Pros: Great location. Accommodation facilities, equipment and provisions etc were excellent. The accommodation was very spacious particularly for two people. Car parking was right outside the accommodation. Great views from the accommodation and nice walking in the countryside. You could walk straight from the house. No need to use your car.

Great place to stay

Pros: The house is surprisingly big inside and the beds are super comfy. Everything we needed was provided. The property location is good, the area is lovely with nice walks around.

Cons: As it was already mentioned by others the dining area is small. It was a struggle to squeeze the 6 of us in.

Pros: Loved everything about the stay. Beautiful place and highly recommended. Everything in the house was immaculate and plenty of utensils etc in the kitchen. There was a packet of shortbread and it was delicious we actually travelled to where it was made and made purchases. We had a tour of the farm and it was brilliant. Our boat was cancelled and we were given a later time for checkout which was great. I woukd highly recommend a stay here and I will definitely return.

Nice comfortable cottage in a lovely location

Pros: The cottage is lovely and bigger inside than it looks in the picture. Everything we needed was provided, with items of good quality and the furniture and beds were comfortable. The location is great, the cottage is surrounded by countryside and the nice village of New Abbey a short walk away. The area is lovely with nice walks around as well as historic sites and nature reserves etc. The owners (Suzi and Alistair) were delightful and very helpful in providing information. Given the lovely weather we had the outside space and nice table were certainly appreciated. A great short stay in a lovely spot. I would certainly recommend

Cons: Whilst the cottage is bigger than expected the kitchen/diner isn't. No problem for the two of us but it would be a squeeze for six! Also not a problem for us but be aware that there are some small steps between some of the rooms which are perhaps not ideal for guests with any mobility issues.

Ideal for an adventurous family to escape into the countryside.

Pros: Exceptionally welcoming host and wonderful area. The cottage was lovely and clean and had an enclosed outdoor space, ideal for letting the kids play outside. There is lots and lots to do in the area for outdoorsy types and the cottage was warm and cosy on the rainy days. We loved the attention to detail and kindness of the host Suzi who went above and beyond for our stay. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils and we didn't need any of our basic things that we usually pack. There were spare towels and very comfy bedding.

Cons: The only thing that we slightly struggled with slightly was for mealtimes to have enough space at the table. It does seat six but we have three primary aged kids who sometimes need separating. This isn't a mark against the property at all and the bench outside was great for a lot of our meals.

Great place to stay for a few days in remote Scotland.

Pros: Everything about the place is brilliant. Parking in front of the house, the rooms are fine. We were with 6 so it was a bit cramped up in the kitchen but worked fine. The location is absolutely brilliant, the view, the remoteness and the friendliness of the hostess made it an absolute blast.

Cons: Actually? Nothing really, but if I had to mention something it's the brightness of the living room ceiling lamp that could be a bit more cosy. So yeah, nothing really.
