Pros: Located in a stunning Victorian Town House in one of the most prestigious locations in the town of Ayr. The room we booked was outstanding - a four poster in a large, exceptionally clean room with tasteful furnishings with a table and chairs in a stunning bay window overlooking the very quiet street outside. The public spaces, including the stunning and inviting guests lounge, were decorated and finished to a very high standard. The staff, were exceptionally welcoming, and Sinclair, co-proprietor (and breakfast Chef!) was an outstanding host. Breakfast served in the immaculate and wonderfully decorated breakfast room was one of the best ever experienced. Excellent advice on things to do and dining opportunities, and location excellent for Ayr centre and beach. Simply one of the best hotel experiences ever. The quality delivered makes this excellent value for money. Puts many 5* grand hotels to shame! Heartily recommend Lochinver for visits to Ayr.

Cons: Nothing - the experience was outstanding in every regard.

Pros: Really easy to find from the train station. Staff were really nice and friendly

I loved it

Pros: I liked how it was so clean and tidy. I think the breakfast was the best bacon ever and there were loads of options. I loved all the wee things you got like biscuits and tea and coffee but they did it in such a wonderful way to minimise waste. If you want to go somewhere that genuinely feels a break or a nice rest go there. Also, I walked there from the train station and walked from there pretty much everywhere I needed to go within 15 minutes.

Cons: Possibly the WiFi wasn't great where i was but I coped, had good mobile data signal and didn't really need it.

Pros: Room was very well kitted out. Loads of nice little touches such as cafetiere, fresh biscuits, still and sparkling water. Spotlessly clean. The staff are exceptionally helpful and nice. The breakfast is very, very good.

Probably the best guest house I have ever stayed at.

Pros: The property was beautiful, the welcome was warm and genuine, my room was large and comfortable, the choices for my vegan breakfast were excellent and to cap it all the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my visit and plans for each day.

Cons: I can't think of anything which could have been improved.

A step back in time

Pros: A beautiful, welcoming guesthouse, Lochinver has an old world charm. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is outstanding.

Pros: An absolutely beautiful house, furnished with taste - lovely antique furniture in keeping with this gracious building. Comfortable, immaculately clean, and with welcoming owners. Breakfast was lovely.
