Excellent location for a

Pros: Warm welcome from Dave. Peaceful and quiet location. I liked the map with stickers from visitors.

Cons: Could not take advantage of the communal area with books, puzzles and kitchen appliances. We had a very short stay only, and did not get to discover the area.

The property is loverly. Does exactly what we needed it for. Sandra was very helpful and there was nothing more we neede

Pros: It’s rustic and earthy and fits very well with the surrounding area. The beds are comfy. The shower is good. The staff (Sandra) is very northern, helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.

Cons: It a lot of options to get into Carlisle without a car.

A lovely rustic converted farm building close to the Hadrian’s Wall Path.

Pros: The hosts are very helpful and welcoming, going out of their way to make it a comfortable stay. The bunkhouse is a large space with 12 beds, great for a group hiking or even single hikers wanting dorm accommodation. It’s a lovely rustic space. A delicious hearty breakfast was provided and there are tea and coffee supplies in the kitchen.

Cons: It is a distance to pubs for meals, so car is necessary. There is a kitchen for self catering though. And the hosts were very kind and generously drove me to and from a terrific pub.

Quiet, rural location with a wonderful hostess at a great price

Pros: Sandra is a wonderful hostess! She is very communicable, helpful and friendly. She provides everything needed for a comfortable stay, plus offers a fresh cooked breakfast. With only three people staying, we had our own spaces and a bit more privacy. A hostel style bunk room on a farm, the location is great to be out in a peaceful area, yet a short drive to the city and close to the coast.

Cons: since it is a farm, just expect creepy crawlies and cobbies
