A superb, comfortable base for exploring the Keswick area.
Pros: The setting, just outside Keswick, is along a narrow lane which is a no through road. The house offers amazing views from its prominent position on a small hill towards the fells above Braithwaite and the distant fells behind Derwentwater. The house is comfortably furnished with two spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite and a very spacious kitchen/diner and lounge area. One of the bedrooms offers fantastic views over the fields surrounding the house and towards Catbells in the distance. The kitchen/diner and lounge area offers views towards Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike. The sun ad passing clouds help to make these scenes very dynamic. There is also a balcony where it is possible to relax and enjoy the sunshine whilst taking in the panoramic scene. There is secure parking at the house and, for those who want to put the car away and get out on foot, plenty of options for places to explore in the vicinity of the house. Keswick is about a 20 minute walk away.
Cons: Some guests may have issues with the Wi-Fi speed. The owners are aware of this and do mention about it in the welcome pack. It did work but was sometimes slower than people may expect.

One of the best.
Pros: We readily agreed with our well-travelled American friends that Middle Howe was one of the very best self catering rentals either of us had ever hired. Spacious, clean, well equipped, quiet, warm and comfortable. What's there not to like? For us, the location was also close to ideal - splendid views, lambs gambling in the fields, all tucked away from the bustle of Keswick and the lake but within easy walking distance along the footpath.
Cons: I can't think of anything.

This place was a great find; I can’t wait to come back. It was more than a home from home!
Pros: What an amazing place with so much that had been carefully thought about to ensure we had a great stay. The room a were huge with large wardrobes, drawers, side tables, etc. The beds were comfortable (very important after a long day’s walking) and the views were just gorgeous. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, so we could cook to our heart’s content. The beautiful gardens, garage, electric gate etc. were a massive bonus. A lovely set of paintings and photos of the local area were on the walls. Some lovely books of the local area meant we never struggled for inspiration of where to go to next. The carpets were new and floors cleaned spotlessly.
Cons: The hot water seemed to run out after 1 shower although eventually we worked out how to get more hot water, more instructions on this would be helpful. The walls behind the cooker top were a bit greasy/ dirty so weren’t cleaned to the very high standard of everything else.

A hidden haven if you are lucky to have it to yourself.
Pros: Spacious accommodation, everything you would need on a self catering stay, fully equipped kitchen and everything well appointed. Full instructions provided in a manual and around the property to guide guests to best practice. Fabulous views and great location. Comfortable beds, plenty of storage space and choice of bath or shower was a bonus.
Cons: We stayed for 4 nights with no other guests above or below us. On our last evening guests arrived late and were noisy below us until after 3 am which spoilt our last night and has put us off booking again. There appears to be little or no sound proofing between the 3 apartments and we value peace and quiet which was unfortunately spoiled. A few cobwebs here and there in corners, and evidence of a mouse point to the cleaning team needing a little more attention to detail.
