Welcoming and comfortable stay in Bassenthwaite

Pros: Lovely little cottage in the village of Bassenthwaite. Very cosy and comfortable. Close to the pub and a short walk to main road for some bus services to travel further afield without having to take the car every time. Owners very welcoming and friendly.

Other than the stairs,excellent vakue!

Pros: Well placed, great place as a base to explore from

Cons: Stairs - steep,very small steps, you really need to come down sideways if you will to be safe - needs an additional handrail - they are quite dangerous to be honest.

Pros: Location was ideal as we went to walk, even with the terrible weather and mud we were able to easily find circular walks and have a great time

lovely cottage in quiet village

Pros: Michael was really helpful in agreeing to meet us a little earlier than originally estimated. The cottage is lovely, with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. We enjoyed 2 evening meals in the pub next door. Climbed up Skiddaw from the cottage - a wonderful walk. Thank you.

Cons: The stairs are fairly steep, so this cottage wouldn't be so good for those less stable on their feet. But everything else is excellent.

Perfect stay

Pros: Beautiful cottage in a small village, welcome sign and basket was a lovely touch. Well equipped kitchen, good location for visiting Keswick, pub within 10 second walking distance. Everything you could need for a stay in the Lake District :)

A lovely cottage with great hosts.

Pros: We were warmly welcomed by our host on arrival. The cottage was immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a quiet location in the centre of the village, just a short walk from the friendly pub.
