Pros: Very spacious, comfortable bedrooms and living room. Kitchen well kitted out with all essentials: cooker, hob, microwave etc. Lovely furnishings and drapes.

Cons: No air fryer. Almost essential for self catering nowadays. Difficult to find after dark even with instructions. A map would be handy.

Pros: High quality furnishings in keeping with property. Very well equipped. Beautiful views. Lovely walks on doorstep.

Cons: Advise guests to bring folding chairs to sit outside

A wonderful five days in a unique flat in the most spectacular setting.

Pros: Fantastic location and amazing experience to be staying in the castle itself. We had this spacious, unusual flat it all to ourselves as the castle was closed and the gorgeous grounds all to ourselves as the country park was closed due to the weather. Unique experience in the most amazing setting.

Cons: The fire alarm went off in the castle and, as a result, in our flat. I have a nervous condition and the noise was unbearable to me. We called the hosting company’s number and told them about the alarm going off but had to disarm the alarm for my wellbeing. When the castle staff eventually came they were rude and gave us a row for disarming the alarm. No concern for our situation or apologies for the disturbance.
