good location for Hadrians Wall walk

Pros: Located on the Hadrians Wall Walk, it was a good place to stay the first night. The room was comfortable. The continental breakfast was fine.

Great stay

Pros: I had a warm welcome from Chris who cooked me an excellent evening meal of pasta. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had heating in the room (something many of the places I have stayed recently did not have). Great location for Hadrian's Wall Path. Shower was 1st class and the bed comfortable. Unfussy, practical and value for money.

Cons: Nothing ... it was great

Pros: Ticked the boxes we needed for a decent price . Was clean and communication regarding check in was concise.. The self serve breakfast worked well . Well positioned for the west end of Hadrians wall and had lots of information books and leaflets about this.

Warm, clean and cosy, in a great location.

Pros: Great location with lovely walks everywhere! The room was clean and plenty of space, we had our 2 dogs with us and still didn’t feel cramped at all. The self service breakfast was readily available and the onsite manager Chris kept everything freshly replenished every morning. Chris was lovely, friendly and helpful when needed but also ensured you are given privacy, we never felt observed at all and came and went as we pleased. Communication with the owner throughout the booking was also very good.

Cons: Cannot find fault at all

Pros: Really nice location. We booked here by chance and were surprised by the beauty of the surrounding area. We were even greeted by cows and sheep on the way to the hotel. Breakfast was self-serve. The interior was nicely decorated.

Cons: The beds could be better.

Great value

Pros: Location - after East to West Wall walk - an absolute oasis! Friendly staff - Chris was amazingly helpful. Value for money - 10/10 Honesty bar - great idea. Breakfast available when needed. Well stocked shared bathroom

Cons: Continental breakfast - could have had cheese/meats to supplement bread and cereal?

An isolated retreat

Pros: The venue was a little isolated, but this is perfect if you are looking for a walking holiday in the area. The village itself is very quiet and this place used to be a working pub, but now it doesn't appear to be, which means there is little in the village itself, except a few houses and a bowling club

Cons: It was an old building and the floorboards were a little creaky, but otherwise everything was fine

Nice guest house on the Hadrian’s wall path!

Pros: Nice location near Bowness. Communication is done to ease our arrival. No real restaurant on site but bowness is just 1 mile away, with restaurant and pub. Very comfortable bed. Nice sleep after a day if walk. Breakfast is good. Staff on site is very friendly (thank you Christian !)

Cons: Bathroom a bit tiny.

Nice and cosy place to relax

Pros: Our dog friendly room was nice and cosy. A little bit of chilly weather was not a problem, there was heating on and aditional heaters provided. The location was perfect for walking and nature observation. The staff was friendly, helpful and provided a lot of relevant information and stories.

Cons: We were really sorry we did not listen to a good advice about the best fish and chips near by. :)
