Calthwaite Hall Lodges

Pros: Staff friendly on arrival, lodge was spotless, very spacious and well equipped, New bar restaurant on site and a short walk to village pub...had a small issue with tv but was sorted promptly, nice peaceful spot, penrith and Carlisle just a short drive away... definitely return...

Cons: No kitchen blind.. Hot tub a bonus but no privacy fencing had been broken in wind but not repaired... otherwise all good...

Pros: Great base location for days out exploring to come back to or even if you just wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle compact & everything you need at hand very clean & very cosy great showers comfy bed fabulous hot tub & outdoor space we stayed in a micro pod exceptional views of horse field and great for spotting the squirrels in the trees fabulous mountains in the distance and beautiful peacocks whom roam freely around there’s a beautiful restaurant /bar on site for drinks & food the NOSH last but not least Marcus is a great host and answers questions you may have

Cons: We loved this place hard to think of anything we didn’t like maybe take an extension as not many plug sockets

Pros: loved the whole thing, beautiful place, loads of peacocks and ponies onsite, the Nosh restaurant is outstanding, food was just amazing, place spotless, staff lovely and super friendly and welcoming. we had a fabulous time here. didn't expect it to be so good and great value for money and felt very safe and lovely for kids. we will definitely be back.

Cons: Only bit I would change was you only get one toilet roll per bathroom and you pay for towels, in a hot tub lodge which is new for me, so be organised with your preparations as we were caught short which the site did help us with until we could get to the shops, as Shops are also a bit far ie 15 / 20 mins, so come prepared. But I would HIGHLY recommend.

Lovely,relaxing visit

Pros: Fabulous, lovely location and great food at the Globe Inn,Peacocks were roaming around and seemed friendly Hot tub was a nice relaxing treat after Ullswater.

Excellent place to stay - highly recommend to everyone

Pros: We stayed in one of the micro cabins. Must admit, when I saw it I thought it was going to be too small, but it had everything we needed for our stay and we loved the place. We had beautiful views and lots of space around the cabin. The hot tub was an added bonus and we used it everyday. We were visited by 2 beautiful peacocks throughout our stay. The local pub, The Globe was really lovely. The food was extremely good, staff were friendly and very helpful, nice beer garden at the back. We were there for one of the nights when they had a pub quiz and it was great fun. We would highly recommend Calthwaite Lodges and The Globe.

Peaceful & relaxing

Pros: The lodge we stayed in was well equipped. The meals & staff at the globe were excellent

Cons: The hot tub shed could be doing with a paint as the wood was green and needing tlc. The nearest shop is 5+ miles so bring basic essentials.
