Gardiner Cottage

Cosy cottage in a central location with everything you need for a restful break!

Pros: It is a wonderful place to stay and we felt really at home from the moment we walked through the door. Spotlessly clean, cosy, warm and welcoming. Excellent facilities including a well equipped kitchen, large walk-in shower in the bathroom and secluded back garden with decking and garden furniture. My husband and I had brought his 86 year old mother to visit family, so the downstairs bedroom next to the bathroom was ideal for her while we stayed in the upstairs double room. Owen, the owner host, was so helpful and it was a relief to arrive knowing there would be tea and fresh milk in the fridge after the long train journey from London. The location is excellent as near to the train station, shops, pubs and restaurants all only a few mins walk away, but far enough not to be bothered at all by any noise from the high street. Highly recommend, we will book again next time we visit our Scottish cousins.

Cons: Don't think there was anything we did not like. Parking on the street was busy, but Owen had warned us in advance that there was no allocated parking space for the cottage. We came on the train, so not an issue for us and there is a taxi rank a few mins walk away behind B&M store on Main Street. Owen provided everything we needed for a restful long weekend break.

Excellent Host, clean and very warm accommodation and fantastic location.

Pros: The owner, Owen was so kind and very thoughtful. He kept the heating on up high all the time. The location is amazing, very easy to walk to all the local amenities.

Cons: It's just me... I could have had another towel.

Pros: Good facilities in the cottage. Very clean and location was excellent. Near to all the shops, cafes and Bars. Very near to the beach, golf course and railways station also the lovely gardens in the centre where you can sit and watch the world go by. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Cons: Sofa was too low for us ( pensioners) so wasn't too comfortable but spoke to owner and he is looking into it. Owner was very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic - highly recommended

Pros: This is one of the best places we've ever stayed at. It's very clean, quiet and you feel at home there. Everything has been well-thought through. Kitchen is full of supplies including wrapping foil for sandwiches. The oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, the bathroom and the bedrooms were all impeccably clean. Owen, the host, contacted us to see if everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. This was a really nice touch. Gardiner Cottage is highly recommended and we would definitely like to return.

Cons: Everything was more than good at this lovely cottage. It's homely, clean and quiet. Nothing negative to say. Well done Owen for keeping standards so high!

A little tired but almost perfect

Pros: The property location could not be better, it was ideal. There are a few comments about parking, we did not find an issue, just walk around the corner and there is free parking.

Cons: I would say if the property was updated in decor and say better mattress I certainly would rate this property 100% perfect

Clean superb house Owen was superb and we will definitely be hopping to be back again .

Pros: Excellent location steps away from the Main St and close to shops restaurants etc .. A spotless and well equipped home ideal for a family break. The enclosed back garden is a sun trap and has garden furniture. The host was very welcoming and the the information he left was helpful.

Cons: Difficult to find any negatives.

Fitted our needs perfectly

Pros: Convenient for Royal Troon Golf Course where we were competing. Easy access to town centre which had at least one excellent restaurant.

Cons: Hard to read controls of microwave
