Beautiful place in which to relax

Pros: Located in one of the former outbuildings of a farm, the property is in a wonderful peaceful location. Plenty of parking directly outside the front door. The two-storey property takes advantage of the views across the well-maintained farmland onto the hills in the distance, by having the living accommodation upstairs, and the bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The laundry/utility room is a great benefit, especially when the weather is a bit inclement, as it was for us. It’s a great place to dry out your clothing. Lovely large spacious bedroom. The host was friendly and helpful. We had a small query with changing the water jets in the shower, but after a quick phone call, I was sent a video showing how to do this. I notice in a previous review that a hairdryer wasn’t provided. This has now been resolved and there is one available. Again there is good space in the kitchen, for any food preparation, and in the living area to relax in.

Cons: Not really a dislike as such, however, just be aware that if you forget to bring any provisions, you can’t just pop down the road to get them; it is a bit of a drive.

Great place to stay, close to the Lakes

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay here. Fabulous location, so peaceful. Village pub for a drink & you can eat at the restaurant/bar that is within Calthwaite Hall grounds, very friendly welcome & suburb food in a beautiful settling. It’s easy to get around from here, Ullswater/Pooley Bridge/Keswick under 30 mins drive away. The apartment has everything you need and more. Spotlessly clean. Good WiFi. Thank you Liz for the treats, these were appreciated.

Cons: The bed while huge & comfortable with spotless, fresh linen squeaked every time we turned over.

Wish we could have stayed longer x

Pros: Firstly, Liz was super helpful and friendly. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by well maintained gardens and farmland, with views over to the fells. The property is the classic stone for the area and had been really well looked after. The interior is really smart and country modern, with loads of tech. It is well equipped and just feels luxurious. The biscuits and Prosecco welcome are a very nice touch. I would happily stay here again, and would highly recommend it to others. An 18 minute walk took us to Calthwaite Hall where we had a fantastic meal and great beer. All in all, we had a very comfortable, relaxing and peaceful stay, and will happily stay there again.

Pros: The location was beautiful, surrounded by incredible farmland. The property was warm and very comfortable. The recently upgraded WiFi connection was excellent, so we were fully accessible and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 week stay.

Cons: Nothing as a negative. Liz was a great host.

We had a wonderful time at Saddleback - it's a lovely place to relax.

Pros: Location was fabulous - quiet & peaceful. Accommodation was very large & well set out with plenty of cupboard space & an amazing bathroom. The local pub \

Cons: The WiFi was never sorted out during our stay which could have been an issue. We always enjoy cooking when we're away and there was a distinct lack of crockery. The apartment had a full-sized oven yet there were no dishes. trays or pans which could be used in the oven.

Beautiful.

Pros: We have stayed here several times and the property is beautiful. The shower wasn't working but we were given an alternative shower in the owner's house. Wine and biscuits on arrival much appreciated.

Cons: We didn't find the sofa very comfortable but that is probably as much to do with us being older and less mobile.

Fantastic stay that my wife and I will always remember

Pros: Exceiient location,central to The Lake District The north Pennines West Yorkshire and in between Penrith and Carlisle.The accommodation is top class with so many clever touches concerning furnishings and utilities,views are excellent and we found it in one go if you research google maps.The host is outstanding and very helpful,,we had a top 5 night stay and even the weather was good,highly reccomend

Cons: The fact we only booked 5 nights,didn’t want to leave

Beautiful property in lovely surroundings.

Pros: The place was very comfortable and relaxing with excellent facilities. The owner had paid great attention to detail in every way. It was spotlessly clean and a nice touch was the bottle of wine and biscuits that were provided. I would highly recommend it for a quiet break.

Cons: Everything was very luxurious with towelling robes provided in the well appointed bathroom, but no toiletries were provided.
