Peaceful and relaxing

Pros: Location was perfect, right in the middle of the dark sky zone so we got to see all the stars out, even a couple shooting stars! The cottage was lovely and cosy, especially with the log fire burning. All the rooms are filled with amazing pictures taken from one by one of the owners which was a nice touch, we especially appreciated them being photographers ourselves. The beds were very comfy too. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. So much more I could say but overall it was an unforgettable visit and we will be returning.

Cons: The bath is really big so I was quite excited for a relaxing bath after a long day out walking but there wasn’t enough hot water to have the bath full it could only half fill which was a little disappointing but its only one very small which speaks volumes as to how nice this property is

Pros: Very comfortable, well equipped, and clean cottage. Well situated for our break and what we intended to do and places to visit. Good communication and guidance from the hosts and good value for money.

A lovely base for an active holiday in Galloway Forest Park

Pros: Location in the Forest Park. A lovely wood stove.

Perfect calm and peaceful. Felt invigorated after our stay.

Pros: Top marks for cosy. Beds very comfortable so slept like a log. Flooring very sensible when dogs are with you . Contained garden perfect for doggy visitors. Kitchen very well equipped. We liked it’s isolation.

Cons: Don’t expect posh. Very simple but ideal for those in nature everyday. Quite isolated so go food prepared.

Pros: This is a great property. It was clean, comfortable and warm. It's in a good location if you want some peace and quiet and there are many local tracks for walking. Very dog friendly.

Pros: The location of the cottage is perfect for family cycling at Glentrool forest. The cottage had all the required amenities to make the week a pleasurable stay.

Lovely accommodation in a gorgeous location

Pros: Perfect for walking and mountain biking. Stunning location. Great value. Fully equipped kitchen. Huge bath - for soaking after a day on the hills! Pet friendly accomodation with a good sized garden for the dog to explore.

Cons: If you are staying here plan ahead - it's a fair drive to the shop if you need anything. This is straightforward good value simple accommodation for outdoorsy people. Wouldn't suit anyone wanting luxury - but that wasn't an issue for us as I have been before and it was exactly what I needed.

Comfortable and clean. Quiet and well located hreat for walking and enjoying the beautiful location.

Cons: It needs some work to keep it in good condition. Starting to be old and not structurally well kept.
