A stunning property in a fabulous area but quite overlooked and tricky to heat

Pros: The location was right beside Dumtroddan rock art panels and in an area of Prehistoric archaeology. The owner gave me eggs from the hens, which was nice. There were books and maps about places to visit. It was immaculate and the shower was easy to use. The telly was twice the size of mine!

Cons: The wood burning stove needed to be continuously baby sat and took half an hour to establish. I was glad I'd bought a fan heater for the morning, and slippers. There was no wardrobe. It felt very overlooked by the farm and road. There was no salt and pepper.

Lovely Farm Stay with a Fantastic Host!

Pros: This was our first visit to Southwest Scotland, and this charming farm stay was the perfect introduction. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very quiet and cosy. Our host John was friendly and helpful. The farm itself is beautiful and has three cute little wind turbines adding to its character. A real highlight was the tour of the farm in his AVX! As a city girl, this was a fascinating and eye-opening experience. The surrounding area is lovely, with nice villages and beaches.
