Very pleasant, and the 'scruffiness' of the estate added to its charm.

Pros: The 200 year old charm of the cottage, well updated and fitted out without spoiling the character of the property. The ruined Manor House and other buildings were fascinating. The farm shop was good and the 'host' in the farm shop was friendly and informative. Interesting history of the Clan Carmichael. Nice on site restaurant. Great to meet some members of the USA branch of Clan Carmichael.

Cons: Deep potholes on the estate roads threatened our car suspension! The Visitor's Centre could do with some money spent on it to provide more 'kerb appeal' (to borrow an expression used by estate agents).

Lovely week visiting family

Pros: Travelled up to Scotland for my mothers 80th birthday. Cottage was cosy, having done my family tree, appears that my ancestors had lived in those very cottages. Interesting to find out, had a lovely week visiting family.

Cons: Whilst cottage was lovely, road up was a bit bumpy, though not as bad as reviews I has read previous. Was easier going out towards the primary school.
