Church Bank

Pros: The village is in a stunning location. The local shop is very well provisioned and only a stones throw from the front door. You also have plenty of walk options ranging from easy strolls to harder climbs right on your doorstep. There's also a bar and grill within walking distance.

Cons: The only thing we didn't like on this trip was the shower in the property. It was very slow and trickled out. And parking was a bit of a nightmare the first couple of days but the views and amenities more than make up for these things.

A good week. Chapel stile is lovely and we enjoyed good walks.

Pros: Location of cottage lovely. Great to get brilliant wifi and freesat television .

Cons: finding somewhere to Park not easy. Property has no form of heating other than storage radiators and an open fire. some form of convector heater would be better. The kitchen cupboards are so crammed full of utensils, e.g. 6 casserole dishes. and umpteen saucepans, There was no room to put the food we had bought Had to keep it on the floor in carrier bags.

Pros: The property was quiet, light and bright, with lovely views over the meadow. The mezzanine level gave us lots of extra space and made the property feel very airy. It was clean and comfortable with no airs and graces. The village is beautiful with a great pub and a good local, well stocked shop. This was a perfect base for traveling around the Lakes.

Cons: Not a lot we didn't like. If we were being picky, the mattress was very wobbly and soft, and there were a couple of cobwebs, but the views and location more than made up for any little niggles.
