The family-run Ferndene Guest House offers high-quality bed and breakfast accommodation in Keswick, 10 minutes’ walk from the Theatre by the Lake and Derwent Water. The building has mountain views, and Ferndene provides free parking and Wi-Fi and an extensive breakfast menu. Rooms include a flat-screen TV, radio alarm clock and tea and coffee facilities. Each has an en suite shower room with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. We offer a wholesome and mouth-watering breakfast to all our guests in order to set you up for a relaxing day in the beautiful Lake District. We aim to use the best of local and Fair Trade produce meeting individual needs as best we can. Our Ferndene special cooked Breakfast contains a large locally made Cumberland sausage curl, two rashers of fresh local Cumbrian bacon, grilled fresh tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, beans and scrambled eggs or fried eggs. Or, you could try our range of tasty Breakfast Baps with bacon and/or sausage. To complement your breakfast, we provide fresh toast (white, wholemeal or a mix) with a selection of spreads including jams, marmalades and honey. Fresh orange and apple fruit juices can be selected with your breakfast. A wide variety of hot drinks are available in your room for your enjoyment, including Fair Trade tea and coffee, an extensive range of Earl Grey, green, herbal and fruit teas and decaffeinated tea and coffee. We can cater for most dietary requirements (please ask for further details) and are pleased to offer many gluten free options and vegetarian and vegan variants of our breakfasts and baps

Otherwise nice wee stay . Friendly couple , very clean house .

Pros: Owners very pleasant and professional. Room very clean

Cons: Our room was very small for two people. Shower room also extremely small. No plug sockets beside bed .

Delightful, traditional guesthouse perfectly situated in town with easy access and beautiful views.

Pros: Breakfast was phenomenal, the owners were polite, delightful, very welcoming and helpful always. The room was well stocked with amenities, a kettle for making tea/coffee etc.

Cons: I would have liked a mini fridge to keep drinks cool, as well as some food items which we intended to bring back from our trip. We understood that the owners preferred guests not to eat meals in the room but the lack of a refrigerator for drinks would be my only minor complaint.

Pros: Very clean lovely staff and had it's own parking space which was a massive bonus. Arrived a little early but Duncan welcomed us and showed us to our room

Cons: The shower wasn't the best other than that a cosy little room

Gorgeous and well-located room, perfect for a weekend away.

Pros: The hosts were absolutely lovely. They were friendly, helpful, and generous. We had a gorgeous room with a view out to Latrigg that we would absolutely stay in again. The breakfast was delicious, and we really appreciated the option to add on a packed lunch for our big walk. We also thought it was very well-located - close to the centre but on a lovely side street opposite the church.

Cons: Nothing! It was all perfect.

Love it!

Pros: Well maintained historical building. It’s a 160 years old guest house. The hosts Tsige & Duncan were fantastic & accommodating. The Cumbrian breakfast was excellent!
