Central apartment

Pros: A cosy apartment in a central location. It's spacious, with quality furnishings and a comfy bed. The kitchen has everything you need. The place heats up quickly which is great for a winter stay. Free parking is a bonus.

Great apartment

Pros: The information sent was very good, with clear directions. Inside the apartment, there was lots of information on the apartment, how to work appliances, etc. The apartment was in a good location, parking if you have a car, but bus-stop near (park) The apartment was bigger than anticipated, it had a shower room with toilet and bathroom with toilet. Overall, it's very spacious. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking. Plenty of hangers space and draws In bedroom. Massive plus was the extension lead for hairdryer as sockets were not near mirror. We will stay here again ❤️

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like. Obviously, because the apartment low down, it was dark at times. But again, it did not put us off, and you can not change this. Some suggestions would be Throws on the sofa for cold evenings Spare walking poles Flask Lunch boxes Sandwich bags. Just those little things as it being a walking area. It's not so bad if you drive bringing things, but if you don't, it could be a refundable optional extra for the sticks and flask

Close to town and reserved parking

Pros: Only a 3 minute walk from town but quiet area. Reserved parking. Property was well presented and very clean. Basement therefore partially underground which kept it cool during the hot spell of our stay. Heating kicked in nicely for evening and early morning. Ideal for a couple.

Cons: The bed was hard for our taste though would, no doubt, be ideal for many.

Pros: Lovely and clean. Very good location and warm in a cold snap

Cons: Couldn't find mats for table but wasn't a problem for us

Pros: Great location with parking space, very clean and comfortable apartment which had a well equipped kitchen. Amie and the team were very responsive and let us check in early which was a bonus!

The location was good for walking around town and down to the lake.

Pros: Breakfast rating not applicable as self catered Appreciated the pint of milk put in the fridge on our arrival and the toilet rolls given. The fridge freezer was a good size . The little bit of heat that came on automatically was appreciated.

Cons: More teaspoons and mugs needed . Especially if wanting to use the dishwasher Shower room radiator not working to dry towels.shelf above sink was loose and tilted so things slid off

Would go back!

Pros: We stayed in Flat 3 at Chaucer's Retreat, and it really exceeded our expectations. Firstly, the location is excellent, with Keswick's high street and cinema just a short walk away from the flat. The flat was clean and well-equipped, and we felt right at home staying for a week. We appreciated the little details, like the visitor's book that was left on the dining table. We did a lot of our own cooking, and the kitchen was full of every kind of cooking utensil you could want.

Cons: It's hard to find fault with our stay at Chaucer's Retreat, but it is worth bearing in mind that this is a basement flat. Whilst this wasn't an issue for us and natural light was sufficient, I think some people may be put off by this. The flat, whilst very pleasant and modern, may not be ideal for people wanting a more 'traditional' stay in a Cumbrian cottage - bear this in mind!

Lovely apartment right on the doorstep of everywhere and everything you could possibly want to see and need

Pros: Within walking distance of all amenities and places of interest

Cons: Ventilation fans in the bathrooms were very loud, couldn’t put the light on during the night if needed as it would have woken the other up

Pros: two keys, comfortable table & chairs for eating, ability to use Netflix, microwave oven

Cons: No electrical outlets for hairdryer near bed/bathroom mirror, only a tiny table in living area with other things on it

Wonderful place to stay in a beautiful town

Pros: Very comfortable accommodation in a superb location
